Still on Track

I haven’t posted in over two weeks! How did I manage that?!

I promise I haven’t fallen off the wagon, as my results will show. It’s just that these past few weeks have been a total whirlwind as my university degree finally came to an end. Needless to say, there were celebrations this weekend yet somehow I still managed to lose 2.5 pounds this week! Yippee! Here’s my overall results since my last post:

Current weight: 12 stone 5.5 pounds

Weight loss (past 3 weeks): 4 pounds

Total weight loss so far: 1 stone 5.5 pounds (19.5 pounds)

Seriously though, I don’t know how I got away with that after consuming a whole bottle of Moscato wine (so sweet, but so deadly) which ultimately led me to make bad food choices as I stumbled home later that night. I stuck to the plan for the rest of the week though and I think that made all the difference. Okay, so there was a decent amount of dancing to 80’s and 90’s tunes which may have also helped…  Anyway, here’s me before the Moscato:

Just over a month ago, I didn’t feel comfortable wearing this dress.

I have also finally received my “Club 10 Award” which means I’ve lost 10% of my overall body weight. Apparently this has a lot of really great health benefits which I could go on about for days… But I’ll let you go away and look that up for yourself, if you’re interested. Needless to say, I’m feeling pretty good.

I’ve now got exactly 3 weeks until I go on my holiday to Croatia so my next goal is to get below 12 stone by then. It’s certainly achievable and I am determined to try!

Double Chin, Be Gone!

I know… This post is very late. It was just another very busy week and had nothing to do with the fact that I had no idea how to follow my previous post… Okay fine, that had something to do with it. Who knew you’d all enjoy my small triumphs and embarrassing stories so much? Really though, I am so grateful for your support as always.

Current weight: 12 stone 9.5

Weight loss this week: 1.5 pounds

Total weight loss so far: 1 stone 1.5 pounds (15.5 pounds)

I couldn’t think of any stories to top the “star wars pants scenario” and whilst I continue to impersonate a bright pink octopus on a twice-weekly basis, you guys don’t need to hear about that every time. That being said, how do people manage to get out of the water so gracefully? I always try to use the ladder whenever I can and even that is quite the effort when your arms and legs feel like jelly. The pool was pretty busy one evening this week so I had no option but to haul myself out, flopping onto the ground like a seal. A bright pink seal. I probably sounded like one too because I was so out of breath. Fantastic.

So apart from my increasingly varied portrayals of water species and consistent weight-loss, nothing particularly blog-worthy happened this week. So I decided to take some comparison photos and that’s where things got interesting:

Yep. I’m feeling pretty good about that. What a difference a stone makes and good riddance to that double chin! I can’t wait to compare in a few more months…

Loose Jeans

It’s going to be another short post from me this week but I’m so glad to finally say that I got my stone award!

Current weight: 12 stone 11 pounds

Weight loss this week: 1.5 pounds

Total weight loss so far: 1 stone!

It’s been a really positive week and I’m definitely starting to feel and see the benefits. I even built up the courage to try on my old, smaller pair of jeans today and they fit, meaning I’m down a whole size! Here’s a photo of me looking all happy about it:

Yippee.

Just as well, because my current jeans have been falling down, especially when going up the stairs in my building which gets pretty embarrassing when I’m carrying a load of shopping bags and can’t do anything about it. There’s nothing worse than getting to the top and realising just how far they’ve fallen down, leaving you wondering how much of your Star Wars pants the guy living two floors below really saw… Awkward.

I also went swimming for the first time in years on Monday and am definitely planning to keep that up at least twice a week from now on. I may have overdone it slightly with a steady 40 minute session (50m lane) which is something I didn’t actually realise until I got out of the pool. My arms and legs were like jelly and my face was reminiscent of a beetroot which was probably pretty amusing for everyone else as I tried to walk as normally as possible to the showers. I loved it though – the swimming, obviously, not my potentially convincing portrayal of a bright pink octopus attempting to walk on land.

So there we have it! I’m officially a quarter of the way through my long-term goal after just over two months and am so determined to continue steadily losing each week. I’m hoping that the swimming gives me a bit of a boost and I’ve also decided to aim to lose at least another 4 pounds by the end of this month, taking me down to 12.5 stone. Let’s see how it goes!
